Coastal trails, wheelchair accessible
The Shoreline Greenway Trail is a network of bike, pedestrian, and wheelchair-accessible paths stretching from New Haven eastward through coastal towns including East Haven, Guilford, and Madison, offering recreation and commuting routes through woodlands, salt marshes, and along the shoreline.
Free · Outdoor · Quiet-friendly
First Saturday walks are family-friendly group hikes with varying distances; the Madison walk covers 2.5 miles with modest hills, while Guilford's East River Preserve hike is about 2 hours on wooded trails with rocks and roots.
Leashed dogs are welcome on organized walks; the Madison location has a water station for people and pets.
Trails are wheelchair-accessible, making them suitable for families with strollers or mobility needs.
