Walking trails through native forest
Hillside Woods in Hastings-on-Hudson is a 100-acre woodland preserve with walking trails through native forest, currently undergoing restoration to remove invasive species and replant native trees and shrubs.
Free · Outdoor · Quiet-friendly
Trails have S-gates at intersections that allow pedestrian and dog access through the deer exclosure fencing.
The meadow area supports wildlife including eastern box turtles; bring a nature journal to record observations using iNaturalist or eBird.
Active restoration work means the forest ecosystem is changing year to year as invasive plants are removed and native species are replanted.
