Pick vegetables, volunteer on organic farm
MEVO operates Fresh Roots Farm in Mahwah, an organic farm focused on environmental stewardship where families can participate in Sunday volunteer days, attend seasonal workshops like foraging walks, and purchase produce at the Ramsey Farmer's Market.
Outdoor
Children are welcome at the Fall Wild Food Walk and other farm events; check event details for age-specific guidance.
Sunday volunteer days run from March through November with morning (9:30am-12:30pm) and afternoon (1:30pm-4:30pm) sessions.
Bring close-toed shoes, work clothes you don't mind getting dirty, a reusable water bottle, and gloves (extras provided by MEVO).
First-time volunteers must complete an annual liability waiver online before attending any event.
