Paved trail for biking, walking, skating
The North County Trailway is a 22.1-mile paved trail running from Eastview in Mount Pleasant through Yorktown, Millwood, Briarcliff Manor, Ossining, and Somers in Westchester. Kids can walk, bike, scoot, or skate on a car-free surface shaded by trees, with multiple parking and access points plus nearby attractions like farms, parks, and nature preserves.
Free · Outdoor · Quiet-friendly
The paved surface is ideal for learning to ride a bike or scooter; no bumpy terrain.
Tree cover keeps the trail cool in summer heat.
Dogs are welcome; the trail is wheelchair accessible.
Start small with 2-3 mile walks and build up distance at your own pace.
Multiple parking lots and access points let you explore different sections; try Railroad Park in Yorktown Heights or Baldwin Place in Somers.
