Wooded trails, fields, and bird watching
The Garden City Bird Sanctuary is a 9-acre nature preserve in Garden City with wooded trails, open fields, meadows, gardens, and a small fishpond; visitors can explore natural terrain and observe local wildlife in a community greenspace restored from a former stormwater basin.
Free · Outdoor · Quiet-friendly
Open weekends only, late April through September, 10am-6pm; check weather before visiting as hours are weather-dependent.
The ground is uneven with natural terrain, roots, and divots; wear appropriate footwear and watch footing carefully.
Dogs are not permitted to protect the bird sanctuary's wildlife.
No animals are accepted at the sanctuary, injured or otherwise.
