Touch tanks with local harbor animals
The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck sits on Long Island Sound and offers hands-on marine science with live animals from the harbor, including tanks with sea robins, horseshoe crabs, fiddler crabs, and eels.
Free · Indoor & outdoor · Rainy-day pick · All ages; K-5th grade programs available
Family Tides drop-in sessions are free and require parent presence; kids can explore the aquarium, do marine art, and hear a read-aloud at 11:30.
The Shoreline Explorers after-school program runs fall sessions with separate schedules for K-2nd grade (Wednesdays) and 3rd-5th grade (Fridays).
All animals in the tanks are collected from local Long Island Sound waters, making it a direct connection to the nearby ecosystem.
