Cross-country skiing and sledding
Fahnestock Winter Park in Carmel is a seasonal cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination with 20 kilometers of groomed trails and a dedicated sledding hill, set within the larger 16,000-acre Fahnestock State Park.
Outdoor
Park offers equipment rentals for all ages, including baby polks (tow-behind skier sleds) and snowshoes, so you don't need to own gear.
Sledding hill is groomed and located adjacent to the parking lot, making it easy for families with young kids.
Beginner and easy terrain concentrates near the lodge; intermediate and advanced trails extend further out.
Concession stand serves hot food, beverages, and snacks with both indoor seating and outdoor firepit seating.
Check daily ski conditions online or by phone before visiting; the park is weather-dependent and closes if snow is insufficient.
